Climate

There are three different Climate zones in Crimea, which is quite extraordinary for such a small place. The South coast has a genial temperate Mediterranean climate. While in Jajla, the mountainous part of Crimea, there is a severe climate, typical for high mountains. The north side of the peninsula is typically dry with windy winters. The summer is quite warm in all of Crimea.

The average temperature in June is 72 - 75 degrees F (22 - 24oC). The sea is quite warm in the summer; with an average temperature around 70 - 75 degrees F (21 - 24oC) in June. The average temperature in January is 40 degrees F (4oC) on the South Coast. The same climate differences can be seen between the warm French Riviera and freezing cold Norway.
